Average keeper all he did when had the ball in his hands was to kick it down the middle just over the half way line time after time after bloody time.

Comfortably one of our best ever keepers. Wish him well as seems a decent bod.

Great keeper treated appallingly by England and Capello

Hasn't he just collected a Europa cup winners medal for Chelsea. If he has bloody good luck to him

Re: Robert Green Retires From Football
He never really had the passion towards the fans like Adrian. I can remember waiting with my son to get autographs off the players as they walked to the car-park, he starting giving some young kids lectures about waiting their turn !

As a player, he was a top shot-stopper and saved us many points throughout his tenure.
It’s also worth noting that he stayed with us after relegation to ensure promotion the following year before moving on.

Obviously, will always be remembered for the howler in S.Africa, but if Capello had stuck with him, I’m sure he wouldn’t have let the four in against Germany.

I know it was a tin-pot Cup with Chelsea, but I somehow felt happy for him lifting that trophy - maybe not quite the same way as Reggie getting a Champions medal with Blackburn though.

Bit of a character...above average keeper...never recovered from the England mistake...Capello tough on him...
Left us for big money at a badly run poor QPR team ...
Can't remember... but didn't he let in 6 or 8 goals in a game with us...???

Re: Robert Green Retires From Football
Did a good job for us and seemed a good bloke.
He left for QPR as they gave him £2m as a signing on fee.

His treatment by Capello was disgraceful
One mistake doesn’t make your number 1 unselectable
Especially if you then pick Joe Hart who made endless mistakes.

Did pretty well for someone who once said, "I don't like football".

Great stopper. Seemed like a nice guy.

But always played like a depressed dog.

Soldo was it 100 MATES or the same person texting you 100 times ?

Re: Robert Green Retires From Football
Never forget how good he was against Arsenal, when Zamora scored that lob.

Probably the best keeper display I've seen.

Re: Robert Green Retires From Football
Excellent keeper.... as proven by his England call up for us... was as much to do with us staying up as was Tevez and Bobby... only down point was me receiving about 100 text messages after his howler v the USA in the WC... but otherwise... yeah decent player for us

Bernie 4:32 Fri May 31
Re: Robert Green Retires From Football
Fabio should never have done that to him at the WC.

Always liked Greeno, was good for us. Binned us off for a load of dough to sit on the QPR bench though, didn't he?
